Rodolphe Demougeot - 2015 Meursault, “Limozin”
Out of stock
Inside the Bottle: Straight away, key lime, meringue and lemon curd come out swinging. These initial aromas are followed by soft notes of almond, hazelnut, brioche, ginger, nutmeg and chanterelle mushroom. Focused and ethereal, this classically crafted wine doesn't hold on to any notes of reduction (a popular subject in the wine geekdom), oak, or over-ripeness. In the palate, bright, taut acidity follows with a finish that lingers with candied, salty lime juice acidity for days. Strikingly pure and void of overindulgent and trendy reductive winemaking practices, this wine exposes its terroir with a precision. This is our style of wine!
Terroir: Not all village wines are created equally. Gifted by being downslope from one of the greatest premier crus in Meursault, Genevrieres, this terroir warrants its own lieu-dit bottling. The soils are deep with limestone-rich clay, and while this wine has striking tension, it gets its depth of personality from this profound soil.
