About The Wine
Named “Mon Loup” (my wolf) after an episode where a wolf was caught in Emmanuelle’s house some years before she lived there, this fresh, straight, elegant and mineral laden wine impressively represents its appellation. It comes from one of Emmanuelle’s winery partners and is grown with organic methods (the winery is in conversion and will soon be certified) on a vineyard plot composed primarily of the same Kimmeridgian limestone marls found in much of Sancerre, Chablis and Champagne’s Aube region. The grapes are hand picked from vineyards with an age range of about 30-50 years and are situated at near three hundred meters altitude on rolling hills, with a medium grade of slope aspect (no extremely steep sites in Menetou-Salon). The wine is gently pressed and aged only in stainless steel for seven months before bottling.
