Why become a Source Wine Club member?
As a wine import company, we have access to some of the most sought after wines coming out of Europe. As a club member you will not only have delicious wines sent right to your door (which you can reorder from us at any time) you will also have access to special bottlings and vintages that are not easy to obtain. We have three wine clubs that cover a broad range of wines as well as our customers’ budgets. If you are a lover of high quality, ethically-made wines coming out of Europe, one of these clubs will likely fit your drinking preferences and budget.
Like you, we like to have flexibility in our subscriptions. So, we’ve made it easy for you to hold or cancel your subscription at any time.
After a full year of uninterrupted and continued shipments we will reward your loyalty by giving you a 10% discount off of all our non-discounted wines.
Which club is best for me?
We designed three distinct clubs so you can choose a club that works for you.
The Inside Source Club is for true wine academics, from winemakers to sommeliers to the at-home wine scholar. Each shipment will focus on a specific topic of wine science with a contextual tasting (drinking!) of a couple of bottles to demonstrate various theories behind why wines taste the way the do. Some examples would be comparing wines made in the same style by the same producer, but grown on different soils; or three wines grown in the same region but made by different producers to examine and how different winemaking choices could affect the resulting wine. Your wines will be accompanied by a thorough written discussion, with plenty of supplementary information to help flesh out the details. Because these clubs are carefully crafted each month, it is not possible to choose a red or white preference, or to swap out any wines. The quality of wines will be chosen from the best examples we have in our portfolio. Indeed, we would’ve loved to be able to offer it at a lower price, but we feel it’s important that the wines are exquisitely made and of the highest precision and terroir so that there is nothing standing in the way of understanding the connection and contrasts between the wines. It truly is our flagship club and represents our relentless commitment to better understanding the nature of this immensely profound subject that is wine.
The Source Cru Club is intended for wine buyers in search of rare and age-worthy wines from our most sought after producers. Each shipment will include a selection of our highest quality wines, with a focus on Burgundy. As a Cru Club member, you will also be offered the first opportunity to secure some of our most highly allocated wines. Aside from your monthly wines, you will receive offers on special wines once they’ve been secured overseas. Instead of frantically seeking them elsewhere, you will be ahead of the market and resting easy about the wines you love the most from our collection of esteemed producers.
How do I join?
Joining is easy, simply Visit Our Wine Club Page, choose the club that best suits you, and click Sign Up Now for the subscription service to be added to your cart. You will need to enter your shipping and billing information once you check out, which will be securely stored for future shipments and additional purchases such as re-orders and seasonal specials. It is important to include an up-to-date phone number and email address so we can contact you right away if there are any concerns with your shipment.
*Please note that, because your shipment contains alcohol, it will need to be signed for by an adult. We strongly suggest having your shipment sent to an office location or to be held at a UPS location if you are not regularly available to sign for the package.
When will I be charged for my shipment and when will it be sent out?
Club dues are billed on the first of each month, and the shipments go out around the 15th. We always ship out wines out on Mondays so they aren’t held in transit over the weekend. If you need to update your billing or shipping information you must do so before the 1st of the month to be included in the current shipment. If you need to hold your wines until a later date, please notify us before the 1st as well. Because your shipment contains alcohol we are unable to reroute it once it has been sent out, so please email us with any updates as soon as possible. You are responsible for any additional shipping costs that arise if a shipment is returned to us.
Can I join multiple clubs?
Of course! We just suggest that you send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can bundle the shipments together in order to reduce shipping costs. You can also sign up for multiples of each club if two bottles of each wine is not enough!
Can I give someone a club subscription as a gift?
Of course. How nice of you! To send a club subscription as a gift, simply enter your billing information, and the recipient’s shipping information when you check out. To include a note in your gift subscription, include the text in the “order notes” at the bottom of your order. To end the subscription you will need to cancel the subscription after it has been billed for the last time. You can cancel or hold the subscription at any time, or the recipient can change the billing information to their own if they want to remain in the wine club.
Who writes the descriptions and articles included in the newsletters?
Here at The Source we are lucky to have a talented and thoughtful team who are passionate about wine. Most of the writing at the Inside Source section of our website and the club features will be written by the James Beard award-winning writer, Jordan Mackay, and the owner and curator of our wines, Ted Vance, who spends months each year in Europe touring our domaines and their vineyards. Finally, for our true wine fanatics, our in-house Master of Science (the real MS!) in Geology, Brenna Quigley, will often contribute (mostly in our Inside Source Club) an in-depth look at the geological aspects of our wines and the regions they come from. How do I know if you can you ship to my state?
Due to licensing restrictions we are currently only able to ship to the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, District Of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.
Does my shipment require an adult signature?
Because we are shipping a gift from the gods that contains alcohol, every shipment will require an adult signature (21 years or older). If you are unavailable to sign for the initial shipment, the delivery service (usually UPS) will make two more attempts before returning the package to us. If a package is returned you will be required to pay the additional shipping fee for us to resend the package. If it is difficult for you to be there for the delivery, we suggest you choose to have the package held at the nearest UPS location. That way you can pick up the package at your convenience within five business days of its delivery. If you’ll be out of town during the delivery, you can send us an email at email@example.com to let us know when you’ll be back in town.
Can I have my shipment held until a later date? Can I skip a shipment? How can I order more wine or reorder wines that have been included in past club shipments? If you would like to order any other wines from the website (not included in the additional offers) and want them to be bundled with your club, simply send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the wines you would like to order and we will arrange the coordinated shipping for you. How do the additional allocation offers work? Because these wines are offered to you as we secure them, the wines will often not be delivered to you for several months. You will receive an email update once the wines arrive in the US and are ready to be delivered. What happens if I’m not available to receive my club? If you miss the delivery of your shipment, UPS will make two more delivery attempts before returning the wine to us. If you miss all of the delivery attempts please contact us (email@example.com) so we can determine a delivery time that is convenient for you. If the wine must be redelivered after the numerous failed attempts allowed by the carrier, any further shipping charges will be billed to you. You can easily update your billing and shipping information by signing into the My Source section of the website and selecting your subscription. From here you can update your information as well as suspend your subscription (skip a month, or two), or cancel your club.
We know it is difficult to be available to sign for a package every month, so you are welcome to hold any shipment until you are available to receive it. Simply send us an email at email@example.com before the 1st of the month to let us know when you’ll be available. If you decide to hold it until the following month, you can bundle the two clubs and we will update your shipping costs accordingly. Please note that if you choose to suspend your club, you are choosing to skip future shipments entirely, until you reactivate your subscription.
Yes. For your convenience you can skip as many months as you need. Simply log on to My Source, find your subscription, and choose the “suspend” option. You must choose to suspend your shipment before the first of the month so that you are not automatically charged. Once you suspend a shipment you will not be charged until you reactivate the subscription yourself. Once you reactivate, you will be charged on the 1st of the following month. Please note that in order to qualify for the 10% site-wide discount you must complete a full year and maintain uninterrupted service. If you don’t want to skip the shipment entirely, you can also choose to have us hold your wines and ship them at a later date (see above).
At the end of each month you will receive an email reminding you of the billing and shipping dates. This email will also inform you of any additional, seasonal offers and give you the opportunity to re-order wines from your last club. You can simply reply to the email with your additional order and we will bundle them with your club wines, resulting in more friendly shipping costs.
As a club member you will also receive additional offers on wines before they are released to the general public. Many of these offers are for limited production wines and may only be available for a short time. Simply reply to the email offer with the number of bottles you would like to secure, and we will hold your allocation once the charges go through.
If you know in advance that you will not be able to receive your club, simply send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask us to hold your club until a later date or until you are ready to receive it (see above question).
We are extremely cautious about shipping temperatures when it comes to wine. We will look at the forecast for your area before we ship every month and will hold your shipment if we feel the temperature could endanger the wine’s integrity in any way. If we hold your shipment due to weather, we will let you know via email that the wines have been held, and will keep you informed when we set the plan to send them out. If we decide to wait until the following month, we will bundle your wines for you, potentially saving you the additional shipping cost. Most temperature damage occurs when the initial delivery is missed, so we suggest that you have your wine shipped to a business or held at a UPS location if you are concerned about missing your shipment. If you would like your wine sent despite our recommendation, simply send us an email at email@example.com and we will ship it to you right away, at your own risk.
You will receive a print out of the newsletter in your shipment as well as an emailed pdf for you to access digitally. If you need another copy or any other additional information, don’t hesitate to contact us firstname.lastname@example.org.
We don’t ever want you to feel obligated to remain in our club, so cancelling is easy. Simply log on to the My Source section of the website and cancel the appropriate subscription. As long as you cancel your club before the 1st of the month (prior to delivery) you will not be charged for the next shipment.
Yes, all you need to do is sign in to My Source, find your subscription, and select the reactivate button. This will take you to the checkout page so you can start a new subscription. Once you have reactivated you will be included in the next club shipment and will be billed on the first of the oncoming month. Please keep in mind that the site-wide 10% discount is only available to you after you have remained in the club for one year of uninterrupted service.
