About The Wine
Surrounded by oak trees on the Jamuz River bank at an altitude of 840 meters, this ancient lieu-dit is a blend of 90% Mencía, 9% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Palomino is by far the finest in the range in texture, subtlety, depth and nobility. Like the old and wise, La Gándara takes time to reveal itself. It may not serve the immediate charm and pleasure of Las Jaras and Las Quintas, but this time capsule whispers the voice of the almost forgotten. Fuentes del Silencio literally unearthed these ancient vines and has rediscovered what appears to be one of Spain’s most noble terroirs, silenced for generations. Take your time with this one and drink with as few comrades as possible.
